Queanbeyan

Queanbeyan is taken from the anglicised form of Quinbean which is an aboriginal word meaning “clear waters”. Situated 15kms to the west of Canberra, Queanbeyan is a regional centre in the Southern Tablelands in Southeastern NSW. The city boasts of mixed economy in agriculture, retail, service, manufacturing and light construction. As per the 2011 census, the city has a population of 37, 991.
