2015: Last Production Year for Land Rover Defender (at least for the Solihull Plant)

2015 is the final production year for the Land Rover Defender. The Solihull plant is already ramped up by 50 percent to cope with the increased demand because of its farewell year.

Each shift usually produces 84 Defenders, but the swell in demand spiked it to 125 as people clamor to have the latest version of the vehicle, which started the Land Rover brand traction.

Due to tough European Union emissions regulations, Land Rover can no longer continue to produce on the Solihull plant, but will still continue elsewhere where the rules are less strict.

Meanwhile, an estimated of 450 people will still move forward in Defender’s production that marries traditional and modern manufacturing techniques.
