  1. The original series I Land Rover was powered by a four-cylinder 1.6-litre engine that provides just 50bhp. It cost £450 in 1948.
  2. A total of 2,016,933 Series Land Rovers and Defenders have been built on the production line at the company’s Solihull factory since 1948
  3. It took 56 hours to build a Defender. In comparison, the Land Rover Discover Sport took 48 hours to construct.
  4. A new Defender rolled off the production line every four minutes before production ended on Friday 29 January 2016
  5. In the 12 months since it opened, more than 10,000 Land Rover owners and visitors from all over the world have visited the Defender Celebration Line
  6. The Queen of England, Sir Winston Churchill, and actor Steve McQueen are some of the previous famous owners of Series Land Rovers and Defenders
